Lake Farmhouse is in an attractive rural location down a private track.
Although Lake Farm is no longer a working farm, the surrounding area
is entirely agricultural, which means that on the rare occasions that
any traffic passes through, it is almost guaranteed to be a tractor. A
number of local residents keep their own animals including sheep,
cattle, and chickens and the extensive birdlife produces a variety of
sound which is a joy to wake up to.
We are in the middle of some of the most picturesque countryside in
North Devon. Surrounded by Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moors, there is
an abundance of rolling countryside, high moorland and wooded valleys
for you to explore. To the North there is some of the most stunning
coastal scenery to be seen in the British Isles.

Just over a mile away are the villages of Sheepwash, Buckland Filleigh and Petrockstowe. We are near the market town of Hatherleigh with further shops and services located in the nearby towns of Holsworthy and Okehampton.
Sheepwash was a thriving market town in the middle ages. Now it is a
small rural village where peace and quiet reign even in mid-summer.
Unlike some other villages in Devon, Sheepwash has worked hard to keep
a thriving and vibrant community spirit and has been saved from
becoming a village of retirement and holiday homes.
